Oceans Month 2024

D-2 Inc. Celebrates Oceans Month 2024

D-2 Inc. is happy to celebrate Oceans Month 2024. D-2 inc. recently decided to start manufacturing Oceanographic equipment in order to partake in one of the world’s most important endeavors. The study of the world’s Ocean’s, one of the last great undiscovered places on our very own planet Earth. Currently according to the estimation by NOAA 95% of the world’s Ocean’s remain unexplored. D-2 Inc. plans to provide the best equipment possible in order to enhance the scientists ability to explore these unknown parts of our world.

As you can see from the graphic above the reason for Oceans Month is that “About 71 percent of the Earth’s surface is water-covered” according USGS. With 95% as shown before being unexplored, it means the exploration and study of the world’s Oceans is one of the most important human endeavors. Especially with the impact of Climate Change it is even more important than ever to have accurate sensors to study the effects. D-2 hopes to provide new innovative and extremely accurate sensors to provide a new source for equipment to measure the world’s Oceans and to do so in new and unforeseen ways with D-2 Inc’s closed field conductivity technology that has flow through capability

One of the unique ways we are hoping to assist the Oceanographic community gather critical climate change data is with OEM designs of our instruments to meet unique application challenges. For example we designed an OEM version of the CTD to be equipped for the ICE Tethered Profiler Program which included international effort with contributions from the European Union program DAMOCLES (Developing Arctic Modeling and Observing Capabilities for Long-term Environmental Studies) and collaborations with the Alfred Wegener Institute for Polar and Marine Research (AWI)Arctic and Antarctic Research Institute (AARI), French Polar Institute (IPEV)Ocean University ChinaShirshov Institute of Oceanography, the U.K. ASBO and TEA-COSI programmes, U.S. Office of Naval ResearchYale University and WHOI. D-2 Inc’s CTD was used so far to gather data as part of the TOP 11.

D-2 Inc. continues to deliver more CTD’s to various research projects and military projects which all help to gather a larger picture of what is going on in the world’s Oceans. Hopefully we can assist you with your project and provide you with a unique solution to your sensor requirements and together we can help study the world’s oceans.

Happy Oceans Month 2024
