D-2 Inc. Employee Frederico Pires a recent hire at D-2 is deploying to a 6-month tasking to the Middle East as a Staff Sergeant (E-5) of the Massachusetts Air National Guard 102nd Intelligence Wing, 102nd Logistics and Readiness Squadron, 102nd Fuels Management Flight from Otis Air National Guard Base.
When asked why and how long he had served, Frederico answered “he had served for 4 years on Active Duty during his initial service. He joined the service with the desire to further his education and to be part of something that is bigger than himself, helping build a better future for his kids, also his father-in-law may have also played a role in steering Frederico towards a military career, as his Father-In-Law had served for almost 34 years in the Coast Guard.
This is Frederico’s third official deployment, his second deployment to the Middle East. His first deployment was to Ali Al Salem AB in Kuwait as a fuels laboratory technician in support of Operations Inherent Resolve and Spartan Shield.
Second Deployment was a State Side tour with the base Honor Guard at Scott AFB, as a ceremonial guardsman in the 3rd biggest base honor guard unit in the Air Force.
D-2 Inc. thanks Frederico for his service and wishes him well on his deployment to the Middle East, during which time we are keeping him on the staff at D-2 Inc and will welcome him back to the team upon his safe return. Cheers Frederico and Happy Hunting!
